Issue: Enabling Permissions

Video Transcript Quick Guide

Hey, this is Anurag from the Sonnet team, walking you through how to enable screen recording and audio permissions so that you're able to use our service.

1. Open Sonnet AI

First, click on the Sonnet application and you should be on the permissions page. Ensure that you have macOS Ventura or later installed on your machine.

2. Open Microphone Settings

Then, click on the microphone settings.

3. Enable Sonnet for Microphone Access

This will take you to the microphone settings in your system preferences. Please enable Sonnet from there.

4. Quit & Reopen Sonnet

Click "Quit & Reopen" so that Sonnet restarts with the correct permissions.

5. Open Sonnet AI Again

Now that you're back in the Sonnet AI application, continue to the next step.

6. Open Screen Recording Settings

Click "Settings" to access the screen recording permissions.

7. Confirm Screen Recording Permissions

You should now be in the screen recording permissions. If you're not redirected, go back to your system settings and follow the next step.

8. Search for "System Audio"

Type "system audio" in your settings search. You should see the Privacy & Security tab that allows applications to record system audio. Click on that.

9. Enable Sonnet for Screen & Audio Recording

Enable Sonnet in both screen and system audio recording settings. Please note that Sonnet does not store or analyze screen recordings; this is solely for recording two-way audio on Mac devices.

10. Quit & Reopen Sonnet Again

You may need to quit and reopen Sonnet again to apply the correct permissions.

11. Verify Redirection to Sonnet

You should be redirected to the Sonnet AI page. If not, follow the next instructions.

12. Manually Check System Settings

If you are not redirected back to Sonnet and permissions are still not enabled, return to the screen and system audio recording settings in System Preferences, highlight Sonnet, and continue to the next step.

13. Right-Click Sonnet

Right-click on the Sonnet application and quit it completely.

14. Remove & Re-add Sonnet

Highlight Sonnet in the settings and click the minus (-) button to remove it. Then, follow the next step.

15. Open Sonnet Again

Now, reopen the Sonnet application.

16. Confirm Permission Screen

This should take you back to the permissions screen. You can now enable Sonnet in the screen recording tab as previously described.

17. Open System Settings (If Prompted)

A prompt may appear asking if Sonnet can record your screen and audio. Click "Open System Settings" and enable Sonnet as we discussed earlier.

18. Final Permission Check

Once again, verify that Sonnet is enabled for both screen recording and system audio in your system preferences.
